FAQ

• How do the startpage exchanges work? You simply set your browser's startpage to a page that delivers rotating member ads. This way you can earn ad display credits whenever you open your browser and connect to the Internet. When you signup you will be given easy instructions on how to setup your browser's start page.
• How can I combine Start Page Ads with other startpage exchanges so I get more credits?
  • On your StartPageAds account, list as Your Personal Homepage the unique URL you get from another startpage exchange, e.g. trademypage.com
  • Now, set your browser's homepage to your unique StartPageAds.com URL. When you open your browser you will see your fast loading StartPageAds page and earn a credit after only 5 seconds (after clicking on the "click here" link in the green box). You can then either surf more on StartPageAds or click the "My Homepage" link to earn another credit on different startpage exchanges.
• How do I activate my account? You must respond to the email we send you when you sign up. You also must view at least 25 pages before your account is activated, and our staff has to personally review and approve your site. Once your account is activated, no minimum balance is required but you are required to at least view one page every 30 days or your account will be considered dormant and be deleted.
• Can I earn credits before my account is fully activated? Yes. You can earn credits, but your ad will not be displayed until it is approved by our staff.
• What is your exchange rate? We offer a 1:1 exchange rate. Each time you open your browser and click on the "click here" link in the green box you earn a credit. We only require that you view each page for just 5 seconds. One credit is good for one display of your ad to other exchange members.
• What are the different methods of earning credit? You earn credits by viewing ads either when you open your browser (start page credits) or when you surf following the link on the ad pages (surfing for credit). Each page must be viewed for at least 5 seconds.
• What is your referral rate? You earn 20% of your 1st level and 30% of your 2nd level referrals. Among startpage exchanges, this is among the very best!
• Why don't you offer more levels for your referral program? More referral levels means that the program will run slower. Since our goal is to balance speed with an attractive referral program, we decided to limit the referral levels to two. All members must stay active in this program to maintain their membership, so you can be certain that everyone in your downline is earning you credits. We have an ACTIVE membership, so two levels of referrals will make it very profitable for webmasters to build a large downline.
• ow can you offer higher than a 1:1 exchange rate? When you open your browser, you see two ads instead of just one.
• Can I promote my porn, xxx, hate, or illegal site with StartPageAds? No.
• Why do you ask for my personal homepage when I signup? We know that whenever you open your browser you already have a destination in mind, and usually don't want to just view ads. So on the top of every StartPageAd you view is a link to your personal homepage. This way, when you are done viewing ads, you can quickly get to your personal homepage.
• Help! I don't know how to set my browser's homepage. Use your browser's Help guide to give you instructions.
• How do you prevent cheating? Members who maliciously abuse the program and artificially inflate their traffic counts will lose all their credits and their downline. They will receive little benefit from inflating their counts because their own ad will start to be displayed over and over. Several other software protections are in place.
• I need technical support or have more questions. Unfortunately, at this time there is very limited email support. This program is strictly being offered "as-is" 
• I sent you some email but haven't heard back. This is not unexpected due to the volume of mail received. Currently our staff is focussing all of its energy on program development. 
• Are you giving me a guarantee? No. StartPageAds.com will continue to focus on maintaining a fast, secure, and robust system, but there are absolutely no guarantees implied or given.
• Do you pre-screen member ads? Yes we do, but due to the fluid nature of the Internet you realize that we can only control content on our servers. Although porn, xxx, hate, and illegel sites are not permitted in this program, occasionally someone will try to break the rules. We do not anticipate that we will be able to perfectly screen and identify all ads and links. Thus, you must use this program "as-is" and at your own risk.
• When are dormant accounts deleted? After 30 days of non-use. 
• Will I be warned prior to having my dormant account deleted? We will attempt to notify a member with a dormant account via email several days prior to deleting an account.
• Can I reactivate a dormant account that has been deleted? No.
• Why don't you have fancy graphics on your website? Fancy graphics take time to load and thus are not compatible with our motto "faster is better."

Terms: This program is being offered "as-is" and you participate at your own risk. Although StartPageAds attempts to verify that all links are to legal, non-pornographic, hate-free sites, we are unable to control content hosted on other servers. Members may not artificially inflate their statistics. Any abuse of the StartPageAds server will be pursued, and at the very least members doing so will lose their account, their credits, and their downline. Members may only submit sites suitable for ALL AUDIENCES. Members are required to use a valid email account and are required to validate their account before it is activated. Accounts will no activity in a 30 day period by the primary account holder will be deleted. Activity by the member's downline does not count; dormant accounts are deleted and the downline permanently lost. We require that all members be active if they wish to participate. Prior to deleting dormant accounts, StartPageAds will attempt to notify the member by email to give them a chance to keep their account active. The terms of use are subject to change at any time, and these changes will be retroactively enforcable. All disputes will be resolved by StartPageAds.com with our decision final. All members agree to receive an occasional email from StartPageAds with program updates.
